Congratulations on the completion of your degree program and best wishes for your continued success.
With its Commencement Ceremony, DACC pays tribute to those who have reached this significant career milestone. This year’s ceremony will take place on Friday, May 11, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. I sincerely hope that you and your family and friends will be present.
On behalf of the entire Community College community, I express admiration for your accomplishments. The entire DACC staff joins me in sending you our congratulations.

The 2006/2007 DACC commencement
exercises will be held on Friday, May 11, 2007 at 7:00 pm at
Candidates for an associate degree, certificate of completion, and GED will be recognized. This includes Fall 2006, Spring 2007, Summer 1 2007, and Summer 2 2007 graduates. There are no admission tickets to the Commencement. It is free and open to the public. Parking at Pan Am is also free.
The doors of Pan Am open one hour prior to the ceremony. Graduates should report to the arena by 6:00 p.m. The ceremony will start promptly at 7:00 p.m.
Filing Your Degree Application
Students are required to file an application for certificate or associate degree and pay the graduation fee for each degree sought. This fee ($10 for a certificate; $20 for an associate degree) must be paid before the end of the semester or session in which the candidate anticipates completing degree requirements. These fees may be paid at the DACC Cashiers Office in room 118. If degree requirements are not completed during the semester or session for which the student paid the fee, the student must reapply and pay any fees that may apply. Degree applications for the associate degree and certificate are available at the DACC’s Student Services Office (Room 115). You can also apply for your degree on-line at https://www.nmsu.edu/~registra/degreeapp/.

All fees and bills owed the university must be paid before a student may receive a diploma or transcript of credits.
Students earning a New Mexico High School Diploma through the GED are invited to participate in DACC’s commencement each May. GED completers are automatically mailed a letter inviting them to confirm attendance one month prior to graduation. For a small deposit, regalia (cap and gown) is distributed at the closest adult learning center. The deposit will be returned when the graduate returns the regalia. For additional information about GED or commencement, contact the learning center nearest to your home. Se habla espanol.

Associate degree diplomas and Certificates of Completion are mailed approximately 8 weeks after the end of the semester in which the degree requirements are completed.
Announcements can be purchased at the DACC Snack Bar. These include an announcement, envelope and blank name card for approximately 45 cents each. Graduates can also order their own announcements from local printers or create their own.

Phi Theta Kappa members can purchase special regalia by contacting PTK directly at www.ptk.org/recognitions/catalog/04/graduation/. Only one tassel may be worn. Caution - due to the steep ramp in the arena, wearing high heels may be hazardous |

Students and their guests with disabilities are welcomed and encouraged to participate in Commencement activities. Please contact DACC’s Student Services office (527-7548) to make special arrangements. Sign language services will be provided during commencement.
T.A.I. Photography will be taking
pictures of the graduates as they cross the stage at graduation. T.A.I. will provide four different photo packages to
choose from. Pick as many as you
like. They will take pictures of
all graduates, so it’s never too late to order. Orders are processed when order forms
are received. An order form will be
mailed to all graduates mid-April.
These can be mailed to T.A.I. Photography or submitted at the order
table on the day of graduation.
T.A.I. will mail your order within 4 to
7 weeks after graduation.
REMEMBER: For the best picture, look at the
photographer when you receive your diploma.

In this nicely edited DVD, you will treasure the moment you walk across the stage and your name is called in front of family, friends, and instructors. The DVD shows all graduates on stage and highlights of the entire commencement. The DVD is priced at $14.00 each.
