Step

- Using Microsoft Word
or Word Perfect, write your essay, proofread and edit it, and save it on
your diskette. Saving files as .rtf files (rich text format) is
the safest format to save in because almost all computers have some
program that will read .rtf files.
When you click on “Save as,” you will find the .rtf option by
dropping down the option “save files as type” (or some phrase like that)
and then choosing “.rtf”, or it might say “rich text format. This will work in either
WordPerfect of MSWord. It
also works with MSWorks.

- Click on the e-mail or
bulletin board/discussions icon found on the course homepage.

- Click on "Compose
Mail Message" in email or “Compose Discussion Message” in
the bulletin board. You
will find this button in the middle of your screen.

- Click on the "Browse"
button next to the dialogue box that asks you to whom you want to send
the message.

- In email, click on
the name of the person to whom you want to send the message, and then on
"OK".

- Find the dialogue
box at the bottom of the screen that asks for attachments. Click
on the button that says "browse" and browse to find
your file.

- Initially you may
only be able to see .html files. You will need to choose "all
files" as the type of files to which you want to have
access.

- Once you find your
essay, click on it, and then on "open".

Step

- Click on the "Attach
File" button at bottom of the screen. The name of your
file will then appear in blue, which means that the file has been
attached to your message.

- Fill in the subject
line by indicating what kind of assignment you are submitting.

- You must now type a
short message in the text box. It only needs to be a few words
long, such as "Here is my assignment."

Click on "Send" in email or
“Post” in the bulletin board.
