| Here are the basic steps to using the Assignments
Tool in WebCT.

Adding an assignment and specifying settings
|
Step 1
|
Add the Assignments tool
icon to your homepage.
|
|
Step 2
|
Make sure you are in the
Designer View, and then click on the Assignments tool
icon.

Step 3
|
Under the Options
heading,
click on the Add button.
|
|
Step 4
|
In the Assignment Title text
box, type the title of the new assignment and click Add.
|
|
Step 5
|
Click on the assignment title
for which you want to specify settings.
|
|
Step 6
|
Click on the Edit assignment settings link and fill in the due date, maximum grade, and provide instructions
for completing the assignment.
Also specify if you want to be notified via email when the
student has submitted an assignment, as well as specify whether or
not grades will be released to students.

Step 7
|
Click Update.
|

Importing an Assignment-related file
|
Step 1
|
Make sure you are in the
Designer View, and then click on the Assignments tool
icon.
|
|
Step 2
|
Under Title, click on the
name of the assignment to which you want to import a file.
|
|
Step 3
|
Click on the Browse
button to find
the file you wish to import. If
you have not yet uploaded it into your "my files" folder, you will
see the button to upload the file. Once you have
uploaded it and clicked on it, click on Add selected.

Grading Student Submissions
|
Step 1
|
Download the assignments
from WebCT to your computer.
|
|
Step 2
|
Open them on your desktop.
|
|
Step 3
|
Assign a grade and enter
comments about the assignment.
