Tutorial:  Adding Content to a WebCT Course as a Single Page

Below are some steps in Adding Content to your WebCT course

There are three basic parts to adding content to your WebCT course.  They are

Step 1:

Create your materials and save locally

Step 2:

Upload the materials into WebCT

Step 3:

Link your materials to an icon in WebCT

Creating Materials

Step 1

Using a word processing program or a web editing program, create your materials and save locally to your hard drive or disk.

Step 2

Minimize your program and get into your WebCT course.

Uploading Materials

Step 1

Click on  the Control Panel button in the upper left-hand corner of the screen.  Then click on the Manage Files link.

Step 2

Under the Options: File heading , click on the Upload button.

Step 3

Next to filename, click on Browse and find the file you want to upload.  Then click on the Upload button. It will look like this:

Your file will now be in your “My Files” folder

Linking Materials to Icon

Step 1

From the Homepage, click on the Add Page or Tool link.

Step 2

Click on the  Single Page link.

Step 3

Fill out the information requested. 

  • Type Syllabus for title
  • Browse to find file to be inserted in this dialogue box:


  • Choose “Open in New Browser Window
  • Check box next to “On an Organizer Page”
  • Choose Custom Icon and browse to find appropriate icon.  Follow this path to find the correct icon style:

 

  • Click on Add button at bottom of page.
