Third Annual Artists’ Reception - November 5, 2004

Artists and donors who contributed to the DACC Permanent Art Collection for the time
period December 2003 through October 2004 were recognized at the 3rd Annual Artists’ Recep-tion held at the Health & Public Services Conference Room at DACC.
The following artists were recognized:

Dr. Margie Huerta, CEO of DACC, welcomed the artists and donors. She enthusiastic-ally thanked them for their contributions to DACC and to the lives of the students, faculty, and staff. She said that she hoped to see this effort continue.
Mike Stewart, chair of the DACC Art Committee, thanked the artists and donors for their support. He stressed how much their art has contributed towards creating a positive atmosphere at the Branch. An adjunct English instructor, Rita Popp, has used their art as a subject for one of her students’ writing assignments. She sent these to Stewart to share with the artists and donors. They were very moved by the students comments.
On display at the reception was a recently donated watercolor by Dorothy Tuma entitled, “Hatch Church”.
