Donor Information
Introduction:
Doña Ana Community College (DACC), a branch of New Mexico
State University (NMSU), is seeking to create an aesthetically pleasing
campus environment through the acquisition and display of art. To that
end, DACC is soliciting the donation of art appropriate to the community
college.
General Information: The type of art sought
by DACC is:
- original artwork: signed reproductions or posters may also be considered
- mediums: oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastels, charcoal, b & w or
color photographs, and metal sculpture (welded or cast)
- paintings: preferably framed, through unframed work will be considered
size: minimum size 11" x 14" (unframed size)
- subject matter: appropriate for a community college in which young
children are often present
Additional Considerations:
- all artwork will be subject to an acceptance process.
- if the art is donated by an artist, the value assigned to the art
is not a market value, nor can it include labor costs. The value is
strictly the cost of materials (per tax regulations).
- artwork accepted by DACC will be displayed in such manner and in
such location deemed appropriate by DACC.
- artwork accepted by DACC may, at some future point, be deleted
from its inventory (by sale, transfer to another institution, etc.).
In other words, acceptance of artwork by DACC does not infer permanent
ownership.
