As Program Director for the Dental Assisting Program I welcome your interest in this exciting and challenging career! With over 23 years of experience in the dental profession and having retired from the military (U.S. Air Force) as a Periodontal Therapist and a Certified Dental Assistant, I am committed to making the student learning experience a stimulating and positive event. I am proud to say that I still find this career to be a very rewarding and satisfying profession.

 Julie Lara has been an instructor within the DABCC Dental Assisting Program since it began, and has been active in the dental field since 1990. She has functioned in many facets of the dental practice working closely with numerous dentists and/or clinics in the Las Cruces area.
