DACC Philosophy of General Education

DACC values creative, flexible thinking and the ability to appreciate and respect diverse viewpoints.  General Education at DACC provides a broad foundation of knowledge, preparing students for an ever-changing global society.  Students in career-technical fields and those transferring to four-year institutions learn and develop skills that transcend disciplines.  Students will be able to:

1. communicate effectively

3. apply numerical information appropriately

4. problem solve effectively

5. demonstrate appropriate technical skills

Announcements

1. Deadline for submitting assessment plans for Fall 2007 semester was July 5, 2007.  Submit to Susan Wood, DACC Assessment Coordinator via Groupwise.

2. Two Assessment Teas will be held during Fall 2007. The first will be on Sept 27 from 3 to 4 p.m in the ACR and the second will be on Nov 1 from 3 to 4 p.m.
