DACC Philosophy of General Education

DACC values creative, flexible thinking and the ability to appreciate and respect diverse viewpoints.  General Education at DACC provides a broad foundation of knowledge, preparing students for an ever-changing global society.  Students in career-technical fields and those transferring to four-year institutions learn and develop skills that transcend disciplines.  Students will be able to:

1. communicate effectively

2. identify ethical behavior

3. apply numerical information appropriately

4. problem solve effectively

5. demonstrate appropriate technical skills

Announcements

1. Please send in reports to Susan Wood for assessment projects conducted Fall 2008 and they will be posted to your program's assessment webpage.

2. There will be one Assessment Teas will be held during the spring 2009 semester. It is scheduled on April 16 from 3 to 4 p.m in the ACR.
