MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

·        Masters degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Management or closely related business oriented field.  Degree must be hand by date of hire.

·        Minimum of 18 post Bachelor’s Degree credits in Economics

·        Three years recent (within 8 years of current date) experience with management and/or leadership functions as a middle management leader in a General Business Management organization that offers services and/or products to the general public. 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

·        2 years successful relevant full time teaching experience (or equivalent) in a community college / post-secondary institution.

·        Knowledge of the principles of leadership, business finance, marketing, economics, management and business operations.

·        Knowledge of teaching and learning methodologies for post-secondary students including developing curriculum, measuring outcomes, evaluating course efficacy, and assessing student learning.

·        Experience with Distance Education technologies and teaching methodologies.

·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills demonstrating a commitment to engage and work collaboratively with students, colleagues, staff, supervisors, and community. 

·        Bilingual competence in Spanish and English will be considered an asset.

·        Endorsement of the teaching philosophy of DACC which supports a goal of success for all students through hands-on learning experiences, strong faculty involvement, and proactive curriculum development.

·        Demonstrated ability to effectively teach students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teach 30 credit hours over fall and spring semesters in the Business & Marketing Department curriculum.  Teaching assignment may include day, evenings, weekends, online, and/or multiple campus locations.   Develop, revise and update curriculum in collaboration with department faculty and department chair.  Conduct classroom assessment of student learning and participate in program/division/college assessment.  Serve as the lead instructor for multi-section courses and unique course offerings.  Develop and teach online courses.  Instruct, support, advise and provide timely feedback to students in accordance with DACC policy and procedures.  Participate in and serve on department, division, and college committees, program advisory councils, task forces and working groups.  Participate in recruitment activities.  Maintain professional and academic competence and participate in professional development activities.  Maintain office hours as mandated by division and college policy.  Assist with cooperative education work site development and student placement in collaboration with DACC Career Co-op/Placement Office.  Function as advisor to students, both individually and to student clubs and groups. Perform other related duties as assigned.
